July 1: 224.

July 1: 224.8. On track for 215 by July 18. Up 1.1 pounds from yesterday, as expected. Down 2.6 pounds since Saturday.

On track, so no worries. Heck, on track for a month early.

But, back to within the normal fluctuation. That part is concerning. I didn't expect to gain quite so much from yesterday.

Some gain was expected, as I said yesterday. I go to a Thursday night gaming, and there's a culture of snacking on junk food. I very much contribute to that.

First comment contains what I ate and exercise.

  1. Breakfast: English muffin, egg, jam
    Morning Snack: Soylent
Lunch: Leftovers! Pasta with pesto and veg.
Afternoon snack: None! I was tempted by an office treat, and declined. It didn't seem worht it.
Predinner: Beer tasting, for a total of less than one beer.
    Dinner: two sushi rolls (splurge)
After dinner: Yeah. Ginger snaps, starbursts, maybe some other things. Crap.

Exercise: none to speak of. According to google (location services FTW), I have already walked more today than I did yesterday.

    Pretty much a cheat day.

  2. The only way I've ever figured out to flatten out crazy one-to-two pound fluctuations around a drifting median is by dragging the median so strongly in one direction that it's unhealthy ... and even that probably isn't flattening the fluctuations, just hiding them.

Long story short: I wouldn't sweat it. A pound back and forth could be almost anything ... how dry the air was in your bedroom, how many hours since your last meal, how you're standing on your scale ... too many factors (for me at least) to get anything useful at that resolution.

  3. Tony Lower-Basch Yeah. That's kind of why I'm giving the "since Saturday" weight. Tomorrow, I'll have a week of weigh ins during the Bad Bet. That'll be the number I use to inform my strategy for next week.
