I'm making a (possibly unsound) assumption that you and I are somewhere in the same area on the learning curves of each of these virtue/skills... so I am consciously projecting my own answer.
My ability to do good in every context is likely to be the product of these two skills. The best way to incrementally improve a product is to raise the lower of the two operands.
