Fellow Americans:
You have one job between now and November Eight. Vote for Hillary.
If you also drive people to the polls, donate to the cause, volunteer? Great. Those are above and beyond, and are praiseworthy activities!
Not voting or voting for Stein? Morally blameworthy.*
*Yes, there are reasons people can't vote. Obviously, if your constitutional right to vote has been revoked then you are excepted.

That would be my job if my state wasn't absolutely guaranteed to go for her already. Since it is, I can make whatever kind of statement I want to with my vote.
ReplyDeleteEarly voting in Texas starts on October 24, and I'll be casting a vote for Hillary that very day. Easiest vote-choice I've ever made. Texas may vote for Orange Hitler, but not with my help.
ReplyDeleteEarly voting in VA starts on September the 23rd. I'll be there probably before work. But this is mostly because my required drivers license is going to expire before election day, and there are huge waits at the DMV and it takes an hour on public transit to get to one.
ReplyDeleteChristopher Weeks Your "statement" will have no long term effects. Ensuring HRC gets the popular vote just might.
ReplyDeleteVote for Hillary.
Christopher Weeks That's what the Brexit protest voters thought.
ReplyDeleteYeah, well, I'll watch the numbers as November approaches, but I think I'm on firmer ground with tons of precedent that they didn't really have.
ReplyDeleteFor those who wish they could dedicate their resources in a state that is more contested: Commit to vote, and sign the "commit to vote" cards that canvassers are bringing to your door. That will reduce the volunteer load (because they'll count you as not needing another contact) which in turn will inform the campaign that they can divert more fungible resources toward battleground states. That is the mechanism by which your commitment matters nationally, no matter how secure your state is.
ReplyDeleteFor those using "my state is secure" as cover for reasons you'd rather not stand behind: weak sauce.
Tony Lower-Basch I've not seen a canvasser inside the building. Are they able to get into large apartment buildings?
ReplyDeleteQuite possibly not. I can bring you a card.
ReplyDeleteWe're looking for people who would like to sign up to drive voters to the polls and people who need a ride! Check out our website: www.carpoolvote.com
ReplyDeleteNo car, Carpool Vote USA
ReplyDeleteNo problem, you could also sign up to say you need a ride :)
ReplyDeleteAt least for me, Carpool Vote USA , the poll is 2 blocks away.
ReplyDeleteBut, this is very good for people who are not near the polls! I will add it to the list.
