I dunno. If 9/11 didn't happen, the world is extremely different, too much to say. But also, no Citizens United, destruction of the Voting Rights Act, and no individual right to bear arms.
I think Gore's ecological bent would alter his reaction to 911 in a big way: Embargo on Iran, slowly take us off foreign oil, and put billion into renewable energy.
Different mistakes were made
ReplyDeleteNo Iraq War II, maybe no 9/11.
ReplyDeleteWhat happens instead, Robert Bohl ?

ReplyDeleteRobert Bohl Assume 9/11 or something equivalent does happen in September of 2001. Then what does an ecologically minded president do?
ReplyDeleteI hope he would've treated it like a crime, and found and punished the perpetrators and their supporters, hopefully with limited use of the military.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy the censorship of the Internet part.

ReplyDeleteDid I say Iran? Brai fart. Saudi Arabia.
ReplyDeleteIIRC, Al Gore was in an SNL skit where he was giving the alternate-universe state of the union address.
ReplyDeleteDo we think alt universe gore goes down in a sex/crime scandal? There are allegations that he sexually assaulted masseuses.
ReplyDeleteThat would be sad, Sam Zeitlin . Assault is tremendously worse than Lewinksy.
