Here it is: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1UrH2KwjVKOLw3VhjTNkUEAo6c0Q3I0D99KTQoht4Fzg/edit#slide=id.g1353b698c0_0_0
What's going on here?
Stats are gone. You've got Assets, Bonds, and Credit.
Assets are stuff you have that comes in handy. It helps you manipulate the needy, read situations, seize by force, and lend a hand. Each playbook has different assets.
Bonds are like Hx -- it is a well of reserve you can call on. It helps you bargain with people, read them, attack individuals, and help other people with their violence. Each playbook has different bonds.
Credit is credit within communities. Its your reputation. It helps you make offers people really can't refuse, open to flight, lead others to do violence for you, and ask for help from others. Each playbook has different credit.
Thoughts, comments, criticisms all welcome. This isn't yet playtested, but maybe in a few days.

Why is it called Dragon World? I was expecting dragon playbooks, and am now surprised.
ReplyDeleteAlso, what's The Watch?
Aaron Griffin
ReplyDeleteThe Watch is a pbta hack by Andrew Medeiros and Anna Kreider, in which you play female and female of center soldiers fighting the patriarchy darkness that has consumed the lands. It is in play test now, and you can learn more about it here: https://gomakemeasandwich.wordpress.com/2016/08/11/project-update-the-watch-freebie/
I got to play it at Dreamation, and Drew was kind enough to lend me their google slides. Which I have abused and destroyed to make Dragon World.
Why is it Dragon World? I was thinking today I should change the name, as the focus has departed a bit. Initially, it was a reaction to some things I dislike about Dungeon World, then it become my love letter to D&D. It is still kind of both those things, but sufficiently different that I should think about a name change.
…you're hacking a game that's not yet published? ;)
ReplyDeleteYes. Josh Roby . I'm also considering hacking it into the Revolution: you already play a rag tag band in need of a shower, easy enough to change the enemy into a global super power. I can see the direction to do it, but I think I should wait for a while.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I already own a game of the american revolution.
