ReplyDeleteHairs-raising. Some locations above 80 degrees latitude are presently hovering just at freezing point (of unsalted water -- sea water freezes a few degrees below that), if "earth.nullschool" is to be believed.

ReplyDeleteUnlikely. Weather is about to get interesting though. One of the commentators in the twitter thread suggested that all the cold missing from the arctic is now over Russia.
