When we win the lotto, some thoughts:

When we win the lotto, some thoughts:
- Fully fund give directly's 10 year longitudinal study.
- Work with the anti-bail organizational to pay for all bail in America, thus ending bail.
- run the for-profit prison system into the ground.

So, that's kinda the plan: Invest money in proving a MBI works with science, end bail, end private prisons.

Think a billion dollars is enough?

  1. Practicing the dream of the lottery comes from the same cultural root that envisionned Trump as president, yeah?

I mean the impulse is strong and comforting and everybody does it. But dreaming about what you might do if you had infinite resources is an opiate that lulls you into waiting for infinite resources while men like Trump pretend they have infinite resources to obtain infinite resources and deprive others of basic resources.

  2. Mo Jave I mean, yes: And, right now, I'm funding give directly, women running for congress, throwing my hat in to run secular summer camps to help improve the next generation. I've helped friends go to cons, actively work to improve my and others empathy, etc.

So, I hear you. And it's not like I'm doing nothing. Just never enough.

  3. Hey William Nichols, was never intending to say you were doing nothing. Pointing out a cultural problem doesn't equate to a personal criticism.

There's a lot of people in my feeds lottery dreaming this morning. While some are personally weltschmerzing, others are societally weltschmerzing. The first is a fluffy kind of distraction, the second feels more ironically nefarious.

Mostly I just wanted to raise the question that lottery dreaming is a capitalist construction meant to undermine us, especially since your recent posts have been focused in that vein.

I'm under the weather, so perhaps not reading with the right vision.
