I am mildly disturbed by "Almost died..........................Of course!"
ReplyDeleteI have lived and, so, have almost died. More than once, by my counting.
ReplyDeleteStill, mildly disturbed. "Yes" I get, because things happen to people. "Of course!" kind of implies that it is common to have almost died... which makes me wonder how you are interpretation this, or if you have had a dangerous life.

ReplyDeleteEveryday, I cross roads on foot. A car could kill me. I don't count that.
Every week or so, I run a 5k. The exercion could kill me. I don't count that.
Probably once a week or so, I get into a car. The number of fatalites per thousand mile are non-neglble, but I don't count that.
From time to time, I visit parts of the country with more guns than people. I'm super privieged, so I don't count that.
I've gone hiking through the rainforest, and rappelled down a waterfall. I do not count that.
I've flown a plane. I count that.
I've lost my footing, and been saved by a friend. I count that.
I've been on fancy cruise ships. I do not count that.
I've had a gun levelled at me in anger. With hollow points. I count that.
I've been pulled over by the cops, while under the influence. I should count that, but I don't.
It's not so much have I been close to dying, as does it seem like it to me.
