Preserving this here for later amendment when DT says it was the largest turnout ever, with the coldest weather and the most snow.

Obama 1 was ~20 F, snow, and well over a million people.

  1. Heard it in the news, the final tally for today was 250,000, compared to about a million on 2009.

  2. Quarter million is so low. That's ... amazing.
    Any bets on tomorrow?

  5. FYI, current attendance estimates for the Women's March run between 2 to 3 million.

  7. And here it is:
washingtonpost.com - On Day 2 of his presidency, Trump wages war with the media over the size of his inauguration crowd

That is, the very next day, DT was claiming a million plus people. That's a lie, and it exists to further a specific unspoken lie. Namely, that Obama was unpopular, women don't matter, and DT is popular. None of these are true.

  8. William Nichols  That is my understanding. I know the march in DC hit at least 500,000. Apparently, there was no actual march because the attendees filled the whole route without having to move. We saw a few smaller marches that occurred on other streets.

  10. Oh, I know. My wife, kid, and I walked with a huge crowd from the steps of the Capital to the base of the Washington Monument. It was when we were faced with the task of getting the whole mass of people to fit up 14th Street that things got bogged down.

Like I said, we did see smaller demonstrations going on, like the folks carrying a humongous copy (as in almost a block long) of the Constitution down, appropriately, Constitution Ave.
