Oxygen not Included.
Cycle: In the 30s.
I am now, somehow, producing too much clean water. My clean water pipes that supply my 4 toilets and 2 sinks are bakced the fuck up. My waste water is also enlargening, and is now pretty high.
I am bulding more pipes to move the water into a clean water cistern, whcih should help. I'm also going to add another layer to the waste water, which should buy some time.
My oxygen not comes from water. I'm looking into moving to a water-based economy. Well, water + meeple power, but in partcular: No coal, no algae.

ReplyDeleteupdate: Now out of waste water. WTF.
ReplyDeleteThe crop of bloom blossom came in, and we're using the griddle to make those better. And to pickle the mealwood. That should be good enough.
We have enough oxygen. There are three electrolyzers going, pushing air in. We also found another vein of algae.
The base is crowded with 16 people. Two have slime lung. I am hopeful for their recovery.
We have found the ice biome. It has two plants that may solve a heating issue. Two plants that eat heat!
16 dupes? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with that, Alexander Newman?
ReplyDeleteNothing, nothing!
ReplyDelete(I've found that having a lot of dupes can quickly lead to one disaster or another as resources suddenly run out. Heat death, starvation, water crises... things that are generally bad for the health. They can sneak up on you.)
I'm now somewhere in the 50s. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI've built five coal power plants, with batteries and small transformers. That should be enough power for a while. It's also freeing up space for, like, a second electric grill. I always wanted one.
Now that my people don't need to run run run for power, I should get back to exploring. dig dig dig through the slime, and hope not to die.
Running out of coal can will be an issue, but hatches poop coal and there are many other generators. Clean oxygen kills slimelung, and deodorizers convert polluted oxygen into clean oxygen, which can be very useful. I'm sure you've noticed that your polluted water produces polluted oxygen, and if slimelung germs get into that, they can breed rapidly.
ReplyDeleteI've got 40 tons of coal. I am hopeful it will last a while.
ReplyDeleteI've also got my coal plants behind airlocks, to keep the bad air in.
You're doing the right things, just don't be too dismayed when finite resources are finite!
ReplyDeleteI've been in the exact same position. It's amazing how quickly 40t can get used.
