Fellowship is laser-focused on a group of friends going on a quest together - it's all about how they work together and learn more about each other's cultures.
Well, I didn't expect Vincent Baker to show up. Certainly not first post.
Shared xp: Dungeon World does a lot of this with the end of session moves, and that for sure works.
Maybe get rid of highlighted stats, have end of session + xp for helping each other / doing acts of service. Huh.
Jason Corley Masks has what, both the Persuade With Best Interests move and team-related battle moves with bonuses for being good to each other? The Watch has something similar, where having camraderie makes battle easier.
Not splitting the PCs up emotionally through NPCs, yeah.
Alright. I'd thought about maybe half of this already.
1. Shared xp.
ReplyDelete2. Collaboration moves, not seduce & manipulate and help or interfere.
3. GM prep that doesn't create pc-npc-pc triangles.
Check out Masks for a very specific type of collaborative move.

I've been thinking about this very thing after reading Becky Chambers' novel Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. Following with interest.

Jesse Cox Yeah. I'm trying to get Tony to run it sometime.
ReplyDeleteJames Iles What're the guts that you think make it work so good?
ReplyDeleteWilliam Nichols currently GMing a UA game but will get back to you soon!
ReplyDeleteWilliam Nichols The main collaborative move in Masks is influencing each other. You literally get to make each other different
ReplyDeleteGSS and Masks both have tons of support for this, and setting is easy enough to hack.
