Well, this took forever.

Well, this took forever.

Fantima here quickly rose through the ranks, getting her Captaincy in her fourth term -- being one of the youngest Captains.

She served for another three terms as the Captain of a merchant vessel before retirement. She's good at essentially everything -- except fighting, near as I can tell.

Her stats are fine (what's the one at 1? Is that Endurance? Crap.)

She can go basically anywhere she wants if she doesn't mind being frozen, and with 80k in the bank can afford a bit more anyway.

  2. William Nichols when you get a ship in your mustering out benefits it comes with a forty year mortgage. Additional occurrences of that benefit knock ten years off the mortgage, so that's a Free Trader with only a ten year mortgage!

  3. Oh man, so i should totally have a mortgage stat, and if you get a ship again you can reduce the mortgage.

  4. Though, wait. How much in-game time do these games take place over?

  5. Not long enough to make the difference between a forty year mortgage and a ten relevant in anything but loan applications. But those are totally a thing!

  6. So, to make that more applicable to game, perhaps:
    1. Ships, by default, have a mortgage for 40 years. Sure.
    2. This can by paid down with a bunch of credits.
    3. Paying off mortgages is one of the "pick 3" for the captain, so if you don't have a mortgage that's easier.
    4. If you get a ship multiple times, either upgrade a stat (like it's Trade value), or reduce it's mortgage.
