June 29: 224.9. On track for 215 by July 18. Down 1.6 pounds from yesterday.
Well, that's absurd. I've lost 2.5 pounds since Saturday, 60% from last night. That'll for sure even out as time goes on,
Still on track, so I'm not worried. First comment contains what I ate., if anyone is worried about such ridiculous weight loss.

Breakfast: Yogurt
ReplyDeleteLunch: Spicy eggplant, out
Snack: Soylent
Dinner: grilled brie panini and tabbouleh, also out.
I also "ran" a 5k on the treadmill. And assume just as much coffee as is unreasonable, because i love coffee.
Reminder -- daily weights are used in medicine to track hydration. For tracking weight, weekly weights are used, and you need more than two data points to make a good line :' ]
ReplyDeleteJesse Cox Yep! I'll have more points as this experiment continues.
ReplyDelete(Besides which, I win the bet if any particular day the weight is under the goal.)
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing with hunger? Like, is it constant, or are you eating filling things? Knowing me, your meals would leave me hungry in less than an hour. But I am a hungry lady.
ReplyDeleteRocio Goodey Well timed: I was just considering a post on being hungry right after meals.
ReplyDeleteSo, like, last nights melted brie panini? Hungry after I ate.
That hunger went away after I ran -- of course it did! Running a 5k (slowly) will do that! I felt kind of hungry when we went to bed, but not so bad that sleep was an issue.
And that's the real key: if I'm able to sleep, then I'm not really hungry. I'm just not as full as I'm accustomed to. And that's the goal!
I've had a bunch of grapes today. I love grapes. Lunch was soylent, which I really don't mind.
Are you following a specific diet and meal plan?
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteI've never been able to stick to one.
This overall experiment has a lot of possible sub experiments. If having the incentive in place doesn't do the job, then I'll create something more formal. That'll be telling. This is the first week, so is very much a baseline of comparison.
My overall question really is: Does adjusting the incentives modify my outcomes?
The very hesitant current answer is yes, it does. We'll see if it stays. I'll be at a riskier place tomorrow night, so we'll see what happens there. I'm not hopeful.
My guess is this first week will support the hypothesis that a change in incentive structure has moment to moment changes in my behavior and outcomes, without a specific long term plan.
We'll see. So far, I'm within normal fluctuations.
Okay. If you ever want some meal ideas, hit me up. I've got a few places I can point you to. For me, having a lot of good options is key, because I get food bored, but I am also lazy about making food.
ReplyDeleteRocio Goodey Thanks! We've been doing blue apron maybe every other week? It works out really well, and usually makes enough for lunch!
ReplyDeleteBasically every time we order, they give us a bunch of freebies to give to people. Groceries delivered to the door, with instructions. Would you like one?
I'll look into it. We did Hello Fresh, but dropped it when Whitney got laid off. Our grocery bill is about $50-70 a week for 5 meals, and our subscription was $70 for 3 meals, so not a good return on investment.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty similar; so, if you want a Freebie, let me know. :-)
ReplyDeleteI will!
