June 28: 226.5. On track for 215 by August 7. Up a pound from yesterday.

As expected, the slope evened out a bit. I've also got a headache, I think from an overabundance of salt in dinner.

Still on track, so I'm not worried. First comment contains what I ate.

  1. Breakfast was english muffin, local egg, and farmers market jam (~250 calories).
Lunch was tofurkey dog (no bun), mustard, blueberries, and pickle (~450 calories).
    Snack was soylent (400).
Dinner was fancy homemade blue apron ramen (~700 calories).
Desert was trader Joe's cracklin' choclate (~200 calories)

I had probably 3 cups of coffee (0 calories), and as much unsweetened tea as I want (0 calories)

    That's 2000 calories. Maintenance at my height/weight/age/etc is ~2,700.

So, what happened? Bodies are weird, that's what happened. This is annoying, but completely expected.

  2. Good luck with things... I tend to take calorie numbers as soft facts rather than hard ones as other factors can make your body weight gain/loss flux.

IBS (for example) can mean an extreme of weight gain/loss of 10 lbs in a single week from salt levels, liquid intake, metabolism, metabolism and the state of your stomach flora and fauna (bacteria etc). Some weeks even just eating low calories won't necessarily help as my body may retain stuff it doesn't need to for days before digesting or flushing it out.

My body has a love hate relationship with raw foods. Sometimes they cause horrible cramps, bloating etc but they are low calorie and greens etc are supposed to be good for their vitamin levels. I go for cabbage based salads (cole slaw if you would) instead of lettuce because I find cabbage less brutal on my innards.

Outside temperature exposure can also affect temps. In winter by under dressing and forcing your body to generate more heat you can burn more calories walking than in summer. Summer you may ping pong a lot from the water intake and loss levels but its a fake value since you'll need to replenish lost liquid to avoid hypothermia or sun stroke in the long run.

I avoid tofu, its over processed and can have problems (see posts made earlier about over processed food... most tofu counts as over processed unless you're making your own).

  4. Sometimes when you start losing weight, your body system starts worrying you're trying to kill it and holds on to pounds instead. Keep persisting and in 2 weeks you will probably have a more consistent measurement (as you probably know). Eating fibrous foods can keep you fuller for longer. I enjoyed making smoothies for breakfast and loading them up with fiber. They usually kept me full for about 3 hours at a time. I ran my Magic Bullet into the ground, and then bought a Nutri Bullet and am still using it.

  5. Thanks, Rocio Goodey . That's absolutely true. I also didn't sleep well last night, so that may be contributing. We'll see what the numbers look like tomorrow!
