Is this a thing a Paladin should ever say?

Is this a thing a Paladin should ever say?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

  1. I guess I'd say "Yes, depending on the Paladin, the god involved, the system's definition of Paladin".

  4. Tony Lower-Basch are you sure. "Well what your talking about is an abomination in the eyes of our civilization and my religion and will most certainly end in a complete atrocity, but stopping you would harsh my mellow."

  7. I'm considering baking it into the Paladin's conflict-resolution system.

The default way to solve conflicts is with battle. Every takes on a role (like "Rain Down Fire"), and makes a single dice roll.

The Wizard and the Thief both have alternatives (Rituals and Heists), and I'm considering the same thing for the Paladin: a quest.

So, instead of merely attacking, the Paladin becomes good at having a different sort of conflict that also relies on virtue. But also hitting people with sticks.
