I need game cards or tiles with specific type of evocative art: city scenes, both fantastical and realistic.
So, like, maybe it's really a deck of 52 and the hearts are all fantasy scenes, the clubs are all something out of Germany in the 15th century, the diamonds are all African cities, and the clubs are all spaces scenes involving space ships and asteroid belts.
I've not run into a lot, and I've already spent some time and energy thinking about this. So, ideas are very much welcome.

ReplyDeleteThe link I sent is for a whole bunch of tarot decks, by theme. There are many different sizes, and the themes include African, Historical, Victorian England, Steampunk, Universe, Alien, and more traditional decks like Fairy Tarot.
ReplyDeleteI've used a tarot deck for informal storytelling with my lady friend. We've got one that has some amazing art--including a fairy growing out of a snail's back and cities in the sky.
Tarot decks tend to be either the size of a regular pack of cards, or one or two sizes larger, but there are some huge ones and some mini ones as well. I think there are even some hexagon-shaped ones that might fit your purpose.
They also tend NOT to have city scenes--they're more mystical and tied to nature. But there are exceptions.
But I'm with Josh Roby. You should make your own.
I think these are going to work beautifully:
