Anybody have:

Anybody have:
-- a modernistic card deck?
-- a historical card deck?
-- a fantasy card deck?
-- a future card deck?

Here's my hope: Make a deck with a bunch of art in it representing different time periods.

  1. I have a reproduction of an 1888 Presidential Campaign card deck. Grover Cleveland is the King, Allen G. Thurman is the Jack, and Frances Folsom (the youngest 1st lady of the US so far) is the Queen. The Joker is a fine looking 19th century rooster. Its perfect for games of Dust Devils!

Is that the sort of thing you are looking for?

  2. Nice, Jay Treat! This is on the money.

And who is this Jay Treat who authors some of their work? Anybody you know?

  3. Hans Messersmith maybe! That's pretty specific, but yes, a deck that's from a particular actual time period could be useufl.

  4. Also, I am told you mentioned me in a podcast? Since I don't listen to podcasts ... I am curious what mean things you said!

  5. William Nichols let me know what you would like me to do with this deck and when you want I will almost certainly be happy to do it.

EDIT: its this but in fairly worn out condition: https://www.amazon.com/Grover-Cleveland-1888-Campaign-Playing/dp/091386627X

  6. If memory serves, I panicked and talked about you when Alex Roberts asked me whose work I was excited about.

  7. I have a couple of nice roboty SF card decks made by Bicycle.

    They do a whole bunch.

  8. The bicycle decks have different backs though so that might be a problem for you.

  9. Brian Ashford Got a linky? And do they only have art on the faces, or on all cards?

  10. William Nichols, you are looking for scenery cards in particular, correct? i.e. Landscapes, cityscapes, and the like?

  11. Kinda, yes, Adam Day.

I also bought the storytelling cards. But, I am open for more ideas!

  12. William Nichols Wow, there's loads of them now. Art on both sides. Do a Google image search for bicycle playing cards along with your preferred genre.

  13. William Nichols Pathfinder (Paizo Publishing, specifically) makes item decks with different themes, but it's very trad-game oriented (so magical items and swords and wands). I don't know how useful that is for you: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8yt0?GameMastery-Item-Cards-Rise-of-the-Runelords-Deck.

I'll see if I can find anything else more in line with what you want.

  14. Cool. I think the Storyteller cards are going to be more than sufficient; we will know when they arrive.
