Have you read these books? They're brutal and amazing.
ReplyDeleteGot a paperback on the way from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteWhich books are these?
ReplyDeleteI thought it was only a RPG.
Edit: I retract my link because I find the same book title listed with different author names, so i'm not sure which is accurate. I'll let someone else who is more familiar with the situation post a link...
ReplyDeleteShe's written a handful of books set in the iHunt world (which is basically 'contemporary, Trumpist America in the waning days of peak Capitalism, but monsters are real and the gig economy has provided (disruptive and exploitative) means for bringing buyers and sellers together around their eradication.'
ReplyDeleteThe books are brutal indictments of contemporary life, wrapped around character studies of her millennial and post-millennial protagonists and their society. Plenty of badass leading-women-of-color, etc. Very gritty. Some sex and opiate use. Lots of anger and violence. But not so gritty that you'd hesitate to offer them to a YA (i.e., older teen) reader. At least not as far as I've read.
Here's an Amazon link, with Olivia as the author:
