  1. To be clear: By "computer", in this instance I mean "windows laptop". Solutions involving installing operating systems, installing anything more complicated than RAM, or any offer over a thousand dollars will be scoffed at.

  2. Yeah my mac won't run it, either. I've no idea why this game requires that much computer to function. =P

  3. Ah, those specs are relatively low but laptops make it trickier... lesse... graphics cards will be the sticking point I think...

These are in the realm of a cheap "gaming" laptop. The card is good for the price.

$716.97 (One thing it doesn't have a CD/DVD drive so if you wanted that you'd need to get an external one which go for $25ish. )

  4. Not sure why it made the one link "Robot Check" but both of those links should send you to laptops.

  5. $700 is pretty high.

CD drives are not desired. We have no spinning disks in our home.

  6. $700 is indeed a lot to pay for playing a game, but I was targeting your 1000 upper limit. The problem, really, is that integrated video cards tend to be not great and non-integrated laptop video cards tend to be expensive.

CD drives make certain things easier... but yeah anymore they tend to be optional for people. shrug

  7. The vid card is lower than there recommended specs performance wise, but the brief check I did it's not that much below the performance of it so... maybe?

  8. What I should say is that, it would almost certifiably run but I don't know if the performance would be in a gameable range or not.

  9. I absolutely hate that there's no a good way to really tell. This is why I basically don't play video games.

  10. That is a benefit of consoles. Filthy filthy consoles. You never really have to work about hardware confusion. It's also much easier to peg the top and mid range of gaming specs, but the low ends are always... murky as often it comes down to what is an acceptable level of performance for you, and that's subjective.

  11. For about $150 (depending on shipping), you can get a decent Fujitsu T902 tablet PC laptop.

The built in graphics is only Intel HD Graphics 4000, but unlike most laptops you can expand it with a far more powerful nVidia card.

  12. You could probably find a much better deal on something that isn't a tablet PC. I'm just used to shopping around for them because I like Wacom stylus input for artwork.

  13. William Nichols I bought the game only to find that it won't run with my video card, so… I would advise caution. :(

  14. Josh Roby Yeah, I think Macs with integrated graphics didn't refresh to be above those specs until late-2013 (specifically the lower-end Macbook Pro 15 and the 21.5" iMac).

William Nichols if you find a refurbished machine a generation newer than the thing you linked (preferably 2, so it's processor is some flavor of i5-5xxx), that would do the trick.

Current machines that will also do the trick:
Acer Aspire 15 E5-575G-57D4 ($579 MSRP, $455 refurbished on Newegg right now. Basically a nicer version of the following)

Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM ($350 on Amazon. It doesn't technically meet the processor spec to the letter, but since the "i5" moniker is branding and not a specification, and since I know a little bit about what's going on under the hood, I think you'll be fine.)
