I'm a king or something, responsible for a magical kingdom.
Like D&D. There are even adventurers wandering around. Probably some dread necromancer over the horizon, recruiting for the undead legion. Dragons fly and breathe flame.

It’s the Ring of Truth. By it’s magic, no one who kisses the ring may speak falsely to you for a short span, a minute or two at most. If they do, they will be overcome with a fit of coughing, as if the ring were lodged in their throat, for so long as they still attempt to speak the lie...or until its fleeting enchantment fades.

Who knows the ring’s power?
The ring puts your outside of causality. Things that happen to you simply don't. This makes you functionally immortal, but you also miss a lot of the social maneuvering happening at court.

The Ring of the Eighth Sphere. Three times per day you can ask it a yes/no question and it will give you a vague answer. Useful for economics, spies, infidelities, great mysteries of the universe and parenting teenagers.
None may approach you with intent to murder you? This makes council meetings a bit difficult...
