I'm at 211.1
Yesterday, I was at 213.2 -- though at first my scale claimed I was at 208, which scared the crap outa me.
I feel fine. I am hopeful to be below 210 by Friday.
Whatcha think?

Water weight.
ReplyDeleteAwesome man. Keep up the effort. I've been losing weight, and started at ~246. I've lost a lot, but according to my scale, I added 4.5 lbs over the weekend to get to 221.8. As of this morning, 218.9.
ReplyDeleteThe scale is a fickle mistress.
Maybe so, Mo Jave. Though, I spent the weekend ignoring hunger, made all the easier by larps from #feminism.
ReplyDeleteYay for progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe Cwik! And good work!
ReplyDeleteI meant the strange flux, not the progress! Doh!
ReplyDeleteWords are important, Mo Jave! The 208 was, I think, measurement error. I got back on the scale an hour later and had a more reasonable measurement, like 213.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emily Vitori!
There's money on the line, too. Below 210 by end of September, or else something bad happens. And I think when I get there, I'll give the same money to safety pin box or some other anti-ws organization.
You have a serious medical condition that causes you to obsessively check your weight every day. Instead, you should eat more salads, avoid sugary stuff, exercise regularly, and realize that your weight will fluctuate 1-5 pounds every day. Also realize that muscle weighs more than fat, so it's entirely possible that as you become healthier, you will stay around the same weight.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I wish taking my own advice was as easy as giving it.
Ron Stanley 1/day is the minimum for doing decent projections!
ReplyDeleteAs for foods and exercise, here's my Saturday:
Saturday: Get up, hit the gym. An hour on the bike, at a higher intensity than normal. I'm wiped at the end, and get on a treadmill at 3 mpg for five minutes, to reduce fatigue.
Then, I spend all day at a board game con that I turn into a larp.
Food:
Breakfast: quiche, made by my beloved. Coffee. More than one might think.
Lunch: sandwiches at the con, vegetarian and completely acceptable! More coffee.
Dinner: a virginia mule, and a southwest salad with a lot of avocado.
Basically, I'm eating and exercise and I'm forgetting about snacks. Hungry constantly, but -- especially at cons -- I can deal with that because there's so much to do!
Work is harder, of course.
So we weigh about the same, except you're about 3-4 inches taller than me and have way, way better habits.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take my excellent advice and slink quietly away to eat another donut.
Had to look up Virginia Mule. That sounds mighty tasty. You might also like a gimlet, the featured cocktail of The Long Goodbye, Raymond Chandler's best novel.
ReplyDeleteRon Stanley I mean, my habits are 3-4 beers a night, a large home made dinner, and pizza for lunch.
ReplyDeleteThe incentive mechanism forces me to change that, as instead of some hard to understand "health" at stake, it's legit money. Real dollars, and going to an organizational to which I am morally opposed.
