I have a confession to make.

I have a confession to make.

About 2 weeks ago, I won a trip for two to Australia. (!)

So, lazy webs, what are some suggested activities that my internetting is less likely to turn up?

  2. Wow, congratulations! Is it just tickets or some kind of tour with an itinerary?

  3. Jason Morningstar Air fare from the west coast, plus  good chunk towards tour on the ground with a pretty fantastic and posh tour company. As in, its a private tour.

I've been a little hesitant to talk about it on the internet, because OMG. I don't want to humble brag, ya know?

    I have no useful suggestions.

  6. I have more jealousy than suggestions, but for any trip I suggest not scheduling too tightly. My favorite things are always the ones I never intended to do.

  7. I think there's a median ground. I think there's a lot of fun to be had in doing some planning lightly, so that you have the fun of anticipation of specific things. It's like extending the vacation to before it even begins.

Yeah, I'm trying to minimize jealousy, and humble bragging on my part.

Tomorrow, we are talking with an expert from the tour company. So, now is the time to ask the internet.

  9. Harry's Pies in Sydney. I proposed to my wife there (clearly it went well, or I'd have referred to her in a different way)

  10. The thing that surprised us was that the Indian food was excellent. Sean Leventhal has been more recently and not kid constrained

  12. Thanks, guys. Very likely, we will be mostly in Sydney and at the Great Barrier Reef. Probably, unless there's a strong argument to the contrary.

  13. Most of the stuff i have done in Australia is very stereotypical touristy stuff. If you get up to Cairnes on the north side of the great barrier reef be warned that it is very hard to do anything that isn't an organized tour. Don't forget that there is a rainforest right next to the great barrier reef, which is also a really unique experience.

  14. Baz Stevens We had pie at our wedding, so HELL YES.
Patty Kirsch Indian, you say? We'll have to check it out.
Sean Leventhal I'll see what we can do to have the rainforest of the list.

    Thanks!
