Today on the street, I saw a dude using his girlfriend's dress to clean his glasses. Her dress, his glasses.
As we passed, I pulled out a microfiber cloth. I always have these in my pocket., and have dozens thanks to Dianne Harris.
I hand it to him, and keep walking. He's surprised and happy and, at her insistence, asks if I need it back. The "Its yours" is met rather well.
So, morale of the story? Buy microfiber glasses cleaners, and many times many of them. Always useful.

Ole Peder GiƦver No. Dudes think their t-shirts aren't as good for this as lady dresses. I have done the same thing, years and years ago. You know, when I was a jerk.
ReplyDeleteObviously I value women more than my glasses since it has never occurred to me not to use whatever t shirt I'm wearing at the time.
ReplyDeleteEdit: to be fair, that isn't a very high bar. I don't treat my glasses particularly well. Then again, glasses are not people and last time I checked women were.
Cotton T-shirts trump random synthetic blends for glasses cleaning
ReplyDeleteWilliam Nichols "Dudes think their t-shirts aren't as good for this as lady dresses."
ReplyDeleteI'm having a difficult time expressing how messed up that is. I mean even if you think her dress is better, why would you not ask her to clean your glasses rather than messing with her clothing? boggled
Eric Boyd Pretty sure the dress was also cotton. Its ridiculously warm, and sundresses are still a thing.
ReplyDeleteEva Schiffer RIGHT? Hence the gifting of the glasses cleaner. Now he has at least one correct tool for the job, and she knows other dudes don't do this.
ReplyDeleteSo, clarification: He was in a dress shirt, she was in a cotton dress.
