We did multiple post-card parties for Luria, and Liz took last weekend off to travel down and canvas for Spanberger, so both of those (terrifyingly narrow) victories have special resonance in our household.
I really want to talk to you about streetcar at some point. I'm going to be honest I don't know about it around the rest of the country but here in the DMV it FEELS like a Simpsons monorail situation. All promise no actual plan for success. I'm pro mass transit but streetcar just gut feels like a scam to take advantage of well meaning upper middle class urbanites who want to fund mass transit but have no intention of using it. Again, no numbers, just feels and that's no way to policy plan. 🙂👍 Also Holy Crap OKC!

ReplyDeleteI know I'd love to use a street car to get to columbia pike. But, then, I use mass transit more than most.
