I put in one weeks notice.

I put in one weeks notice.

I feel kinda bad about it.

But, it is legit for health reasons: I was having precursers to panic attacks.

Time to get out.

  2. I say precursers because I know what panic attacks are, and I'm not there yet.

As is, I can still say "That's a fight or flight reflex. I am going to do neither."

But, I know the more I do that the harder it is -- and that this change is, essentially, permanent. And that it makes me a worse person long-term.

And that, before too long, I won't be able to overcome it. That, instead, I will find myself shouting or weeping uncontrollably

So, I am going to go do the best thing for me: help out at a camp for free thinking kids.

  3. Gentle reminder that it's not fight or flight, it is fight, flight or FREEZE which a lot of people neglect.

  6. If you really have panic attacks I'm hoping you are smart enough to have done the therapy thing.

  8. This was the right decision.

Two and a half more days.

  9. There is nothing more important than your mental health.

...except maybe refraining from harming other people. But that more often comes from lack of mental health than its opposite.

    Good call, man.
