The Marvel properties tend to succeed in spite of Whedon, but Whedon himself, as I'm finding out in my old age, does not even remotely a little bit hold up. I highly recommend AoU.
Jesse Rupp I don't see many movies. Possibly more plays than movies in the cinema. I also, apparently, use the word cinema. As much as I loved the first Iron Man movie, I find anything with Thor in it to be immensely boring. The first time I tried to watch the first Avengers movie, I stopped halfway through -- right before the helicarrier, turns out.
I rewatched, and from that moment onward its watchable. Enjoyable, even. The plot and ideas I've heard from this new one do not make me want to see it.
I'm glad others have enjoyed it. And I'll probably give it two hours in a couple years. But between NPR and posters, I feel like I've already seen it.
Yes. Absolutely.
ReplyDeleteAlright. Wrap it up. No wonder I don't care to see Avengers 2: Revenge of Tony's Ego.
