I'm starting a collection for my thoughts on RPGs.
I was never on The Forge, and don't have that culture. I will be looking for thoughts, feedback, and expansion of my gaming vocabulary.
Your thoughts are important for this to be useful. I want to hear from you. Tell me when I'm wrong. Tell me when you disagree. Tell me when I think I'm insightful but am really just stupid. And, of course, agreement is also welcome.
editing with some ground rules:
-- No one's experience is lesser than others.
-- Go for authenticity, not invalidation of others views.
-- Most importantly: the people involved are more important than the ideas.
Let's try to remember that. If there's jerky and I miss it, please tell me so I can do some modding.

I think it's useful to make up your own nomenclature. Every time I poked the Forge I didn't find a lot of the terminology to be very useful to the kind of play I was doing, so I just came up with my own and it suited me fine.
ReplyDeleteIt's useful to be aware of current terminology, because it's good to be able to translate into it, but it's also not strictly necessary.
I think that is very much right, Gretchen S. !
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm wondering about puzzle games and if prep makes sense. My general view is that it doesn't. Feel free chime in on that other post; I'm very much open to ideas.
I look forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteMichael Harrel There's a big one on the value of prep!
