Tribunal - Can it happen outside of a con?

Tribunal - Can it happen outside of a con?

The highlight of my Camp Nerdly was the tribunal (all other games were awesome, but only one made me unable to sleep). The intensity was unexpected and quite fantastic.

I'd like to do it again. And I'm fine with organizing it, but not facilitating it.

I'm not sure when this will happen, but it'll be in the DC area - because I'm here. I'll work on figuring out the specifics once I know I've got a few people.

So - why is this a post? Because of what i want from you - comment and I'll add you to a Tribunal Circle. This'll be a statement of interest, not a declaration that you'll do it.

When there are enough people, I'll start organizing.

  1. Todd Sprang Tribunal is a larp with 12 players. It is about the mechanisms of oppression. Let me share my long-ass post about it with you, which was initially just to the Camp Nerdly crowd.

  3. That's two! Hopefully I'll hear from Daniel, Josh, Sean, Patty and Kristin when they are able. That'd be 8, I think. We're getting close.

  4. I live in DC and like games and hate oppression, which makes me interested.

  5. Joshua Miller you've been added to the list. You weren't in any of my circles, so let me make sure you know what you're signing up for - this is a 12 person larp set in a barracks, while you are waiting to be individually questioned about a theft. There is no violence. Still interested?

  6. William Nichols Sure. I don't do a lot of larping (in fact almost all of my recent gaming has been over Google Hangouts with folks like Rachel E.S. Walton  and Daniel Levine)  but I can get behind that.

  7. Mentioning those two puts you into the awesome sauce camp.

  8. Good luck! Sorry I live so far away or I'd try to facilitate for you.
(I'm not sure that it's an activity that can be facilitated remotely... but man, wouldn't that be dystopian and surreal?)

  9. Arnold Cassell Kelley has also suggested coming in as Magpie on G+ for a few minutes.

  10. Neat! It depends how heavily you want the unit influenced by the facilitators. I think it's cool to have facilitators who push and prod, but at the same time, I've felt like I pushed too much in places.

  18. I see what happened. Christopher Amherst seems to have two profiles and I tagged the wrong one. He should be able to see this now (I hope).
